Overview:

Dihydrogalantamine is the dihydrogen derivative of galantamine. Its pharmacological effects are the same as galantamine hydrobromide, but its effects are weaker. It is a white crystalline powder at room temperature, odorless and bitter, with a melting point of 230~237°C. Easily soluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol, insoluble in chloroform, acetone, ether and benzene. Its salts are easily hydrolyzed. Extracted from Lycoris purpurea or Lycoris lycoris. It has the effect of inhibiting cholinesterase, but its inhibitory effect is weak and its toxicity is low. It is easier to absorb than lycorine in the digestive tract. Its therapeutic index is close to galantamine.
